Veterans Have Priority Service
Title 38, US Code and State Legislation mandates that qualified U.S. veterans receive:
> Priority in all employment and training programs
> Referral to jobs and job training programs
> Counseling, testing and job development assistance
> Eligibility determination for tax credit programs
> Assistance infiling complaints relating to:
~ Federal contractors regarding affirmative action for qualified veterans
~ Federal hiring practices related to veteran preference
> Uniformed Service Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) including rights of National Guard and Reserve Members
 
You may be entitled to priority services if you served full-time in the active U.S. Military, or as a National Guard or Reserve member called to active duty for more thatn 180 days.

Our knowledgeable and friendly staff is available to assist you with your job search activities. Some offices provide assistance with preparation of cover letters, resumes, thank-you notes, internet navigation assistance, and video work shops. On-line registration is available to those with availability to access the internet.
 
Offices are equipped with self-help computers located within local one stop offices, and are available for your use in locating employment or the creation of your own cover letters, resumes or thank-you notes.

Local Veterans Employment Representatives and Disabled Veterans Employment Programs Specialists are available to assist you with your special needs. Call ahead for dates and times specific for your local area.

Iraq and Afghanistan License Plates [ Posted on 12/03/2007 by Cynthia L. Dennis ]
The new Iraq and Afghanistan license plates are now available.


Those Veterans desiring to receive a new plate, must provide their discharge papers (DD 214) indicating service to that area along with the application. Both documents need to be submitted to a Veterans Affairs Officer for their verifying signature prior to submission to the WV DMV.
