WORKFORCE West Virginia coordinates all available state and federal training resources. Training can make new employees job-ready or upgrade the skills of existing workers.
WORKFORCE West Virginia centers in seven regions throughout the state coordinate a variety of state agency and local service organization offices in a single, convenient location. WORKFORCE West Virginia centers provide a single access point for career services, job search assistance and other employment-related services. Additional services are made available at the centers through the use of electronic linkages via the Internet.
Workforce Investment Act Program:
The Workforce Investment Act of 1998 created a new environment for employers and job seekers when using financial assistance for training. It replaced the Job Training Partnership Act (1983-1999) and emphasizes universal service, accountability, customer choice and integration of service through a one-stop approach.
